Growing
The larger picture behind beautiful images of flowers is the constant dance between soil, air and water, as well as the surrounding wildlife and pollinators. Each season is a new beginning, and layered into each stage of growth is constant care-taking and management.
A greenhouse full of seedlings is a magical promise of color and the ability to watch it unfold over time never grows old. There is a quiet energy in each new season as it begins and this brings growers back to their greenhouses time and time again.
Along with perennials that are propagated and divided each season, I grow a wide variety of annuals from seed. I collect and store seeds that are hard to source, grow and store dahlias in colors that work well in wedding design, and add new varieties and colors each year.
